TESTIMONIALS
“Because of what I’ve learned and practiced during the past 5 weeks, I’ve been a lot less quick to get irritated with people in my life…and they have definitely noticed!”
- Jim -
“I have appreciated the opportunity to take time for myself so much, and somehow doing that each day has actually helped me to feel less selfish and more concerned for others. Ultimately this makes me feel better and treat others better. Plus, my thighs look much nicer!”
- Chryss -
“I feel like for so long I’ve just been trying to get through life, and this experience helped me to actually ENJOY life. I’m so grateful and happy!”
- Sea -
“Besides building a lot of strength, I learned so much about what yoga really is. Now that I can see the bigger picture, everything makes so much more sense and I can more easily use it to affect my whole life. It’s been a truly amazing experience!”

Your Commitment
- Yoga 3-6 days per week: attend class at Asha Yoga for at least 12 out of 28 days.
- Practice pranayama (breathing techniques) 1 time a day for 5 minutes. Guidance on the technique of pranayama will be offered during yoga classes and at the weekly meetings.
- Practice meditation 1 time a day for 10 minutes each time. Guidance and lessons in meditation will be given during weekly meetings and in regular classes.
- Attend weekly meetings at Asha Yoga (Tuesday evenings, October 4th-November 1st)
- Keep a daily log/journal of specific mindfulness practices related to “The Work” – a self inquiry practice inspired by author Byron Katie and her book “Loving What Is”
- Set the intention to be aware of and possibly shift behaviors and thought patterns in order to create a more mindful practice.
- Incorporate the provided nutrition suggestions into your daily diet to experience the synergy between a healthy body and spirit.
Yes, it’s a big commitment.
Many things of value in life require that you give fully of yourself and make sacrifices. This doesn’t mean your ultimate goal will be to attend class at the yoga studio every day for the rest of your life (Though maybe it is!). YOU will choose your own ultimate goal, but the asana commitment for the challenge IS 3-6 days days of yoga at Asha for the 4 weeks. After completing the challenge, the quantity of time dedicated to the physical practice each day may vary.
Why 4 Weeks?
Because many studies (and my own experiences) have shown that it takes this long to make or break a habit. During these 4 weeks, our goal is to make several new habits that will lead us to discover our strongest, healthiest, happiest selves.
The Reward:
I’m sure you get the idea by now… a life filled with insight, curiosity, happiness and peace.☺
More About the Nutrition Program
Living Yoga will include a nutrition component guided by Ashley Murray, Certified Nutrition Educator and Registered Yoga Teacher. The program will involve two parts: journaling to bring awareness to your diet and lifestyle choices and an optional gentle 10 day detox and cleanse.Journaling will help bring greater awareness to your diet and lifestyle by giving you the space to evaluate your existing habits. You will learn about how foods influence the way you feel, physically and mentally, and be empowered with knowledge that will enable you to change, reclaim and improve your health – regardless of where you are starting from. You will also record your physical activity, relaxation and sleep patterns – all of which are essential to bring you to optimal vitality and health.
The optional 10 day detox and cleansing program will integrate meal planning, learning recipes, cooking, consuming foods that cleanse and nurture you, yoga, and relaxation. It does not involve fasting; instead you will focus on taking in the nutrients that your body needs to function at its best. There will be two detox meetings where we will discuss the various aspects of the detox and cleanse. These meetings will take place after our regular Sundays meetings during the 3rd and 5th week.
The cost of this program will be $25 (in addition to the Living Yoga Program fee).
