Yoga 101
If you feel nervous about just walking into an all-levels yoga class… or you have questions, concerns or simply a need to know more before diving in, this is the perfect class for you.
You will be able to explore and learn at a comfortable pace in a supportive environment with others who are new to yoga. You can get your questions answered and hopefully realize that there is nothing to WORRY about here. You will learn the secret to making yoga a transformational practice.
This 2-hour workshop is designed to provide you with important information to support your experience in an all-level class.
Includes:
- A brief discussion of the some of the elements consistently found in our classes (Such as chanting Om, meditation, and breathing exercises)
- Demonstration and practice of some very fundamental Yoga postures
- Instruction on how to combine breath and movement
- Answers to frequently asked questions and misconceptions
You don’t need to be flexible, strong, or be able to quiet the mind. Simply show up and do your best.
This 2-hour workshop is offered once per month and is best suited for those new, or fairly new, to yoga.
Fee $30 (Includes 10 consecutive days of free yoga for all students new to Asha Yoga, plus 20% off any yoga clothing, mat or props on the day you attend the workshop. Your ten free days begin the day after you attend the workshop. Current members of Asha Yoga may attend the workshop free when they bring a friend AND get the discount in the boutique.)
You do not need your own yoga mat. We will loan you a mat for the workshop, or you may purchase one at Asha Yoga for a discount that day.)

Yoga Foundations Series
Do you want a strong foundation for your yoga practice? Do you want every class you take and every pose you do to be more effective? There is simply not enough time to provide all the useful tools for practice in every all-level class, so many students end up learning them over a LONG period of time. This series is designed to provide you with a strong foundation for an educated practice in just three weeks.
In six sessions (we meet twice per week for 3 weeks) you will explore and learn the, sometimes, elusive sounding details of alignment in a variety of yoga poses. We will move at a comfortable pace, in a supportive environment, with others who are new to this information.
What you learn here will allow every class you take and every pose you do in the future to be more effective. The insights you gain are guaranteed to transform your yoga practice, whether you are new to yoga or have been flowing through asanas for years.
This series consists of six 75 min sessions, offered once per month. This series is well suited for those new to yoga, as well as anyone who plans to maintain a regular practice.
Fee: $89
We recommend you have your own yoga mat.
